The Acting HoM/FC, Maj Gen Benjamin Sawyerr, and a section of the Mission Leadership Team, held a meeting with the Ngok Dinka Paramount Chief and other Chiefs at the Paramount Chief’s residence in Abyei. The meeting, which was held on 27 November, forms a crucial component of the Ag HoM/FC regular engagement with the leaders.

The discussions addressed various issues with a particular focus on the general security in Abyei, the recent peaceful demonstration staged by the local community and collaboration with UNISFA, among other issues. These regular meetings between UNISFA leadership and the Ngok Dinka leaders form part of collaborative efforts to address and respond to the prevailing challenges in the area.
