On 30 November, Acting HoM/FC Maj Gen Benjamin Sawyerr and the representative of the local administration in Northern Abyei, the led a visit to the UNFPA-run Women and Girl Friendly Space in Diffra. He was accompanied by mission personnel and local administration representatives.

The facility serves as a crucial hub for training focusing on Case Management Services for victims of Gender-Based Violence (GBV) including provision of psychosocial support for GBV survivors, awareness sessions on family planning and the prevention of sexually transmitted diseases (STDs).

As part of the program, GBV case management services will be offered to victims in a designated confidential room which is under construction, ensuring privacy and sensitivity in addressing the needs of victims.
