From 24 to 26 October 2023, General Birame Diop the Military Adviser. Department of Peace Operations (DPO) paid a visit to UNISFA and interacted with the representatives of the Abyei administration and mission leadership team.  General Diop and visited UNISFA contingents, including VMCEC, BANBATT, PAKBATT, CMUHU, NFHQSU, NBDC, INBATT, and GHANBATT where he commented the contribution made by all military units of UNISFA. The visit included interactions with all the UNISFA contingents in their areas of operation.

Expressing his appreciation, General Diop commended the invaluable contributions made by all military units within UNISFA. He visited Civil-Military Cooperation (CIMIC) activities carried out by PAKBATT and BANBATT, including children's classes and vocational training for youth at Amiet School. Additionally, he witnessed medical examinations and treatments for local residents. He also visited CIMIC activities carried out by PAKBATT and BANBATT, such as children’s classes and vocational training for the youth at Amiet School, medical examination and treatment for local people and veterinary campaign at South Murta village, Kadugli. In Kadugli, he held talks with the Governor of South Kordofan State and other local authority representatives.

During his visit to the Joint Border Verification and Monitoring Mechanism (JBVMM) area of operation, General Diop joined held talks with peacekeepers and visited CIMIC activities implemented by the Bangladesh Battalion where he witnessed the treatment for local people and veterinary campaign at South Murta village, Kadugli. He also held close talks with the Governor of South Kordofan State and other local authority representatives.
