Abyei, 8 March 2022 – The United Nations Interim Security Force for Abyei (UNISFA) is deeply concerned about the renewed violence in the southern part of the Abyei Area.
The Force Commander/Ag Head of Mission designate, Major General Benjamin Olufemi Sawyerr, on 1 March 2020, called on the Ngok Dinka Paramount Chief (PC) and the Juba-appointed Chief Administrator in Abyei.

A handover ceremony between the Ghanaian and Ethiopian battalions was held at the Joint Border Verification and Monitoring Mechanism (JBVMM) headquarters in Kadugli on 15 February 2022.
The Pakistan army has dispatched the advance party of its battalion to UNISFA. The advance team, comprising of 15 personnel, arrived in the mission Area of Operation on 9 February 2022, and was deployed to UNISFA Todach Team Site of Sector North.
