  • 20 Apr 2023 - Abyei, 20 April 2023 - The United Nations Interim Security Force in Abyei UNISFA welcomes efforts by the Ngok Dinka and Twic Dinka communities to find a peaceful resolution to the intercommunal violence that has threatened the peace and security in the southern part of the Abyei Box and northern Warrap State of South Sudan.
  • 23 Mar 2023 - Abyei, 23 March 2023UNISFA, IOM, FAO and Concordis International brokered a peace agreement between the Ngok Dinkas and Misseriyas of the disputed Abyei Box that lies between the borders of Sudan and South Sudan in a 4-day engagement in Todach from 20-23 March 2023.
  • 01 Feb 2023 - Abyei, 01 February 2023 - The United Nations Interim Security Force in Abyei strongly condemns the renewed intercommunal violence which is threatening the security situation in and around the southern part of the Abyei box.
  • 27 Jan 2023 - Abyei, 27 January 2023 – UNISFA welcomes the decisions reached during the ordinary session of the Joint Political and Security Mechanism (JPSM) meeting of 18 January 2023 and is encouraged by the parties’ “unwavering commitment to the full implementation of the Cooperation Agreements and the Agreement on Security Arrangements” signed by the Sudan and South Sudan in 2012.
  • 08 Jan 2023 - Abyei, 08 January 2023. On 6 January 2023, a joint UNISFA search team, in collaboration with representatives of the Abyei Community Protection Committee (CPC), recovered the dead bodies of the two missing Misseriya traders, who were abducted on 30 December 2022. Both murdered bodies were found on the outskirts of Abyei Town, near Banton.
  • 05 Jan 2023 - Abyei, 05 January 2023 Corrigendum – A combined armed group of Nuer and Twic Dinka launched an early morning attack on the Rumamier village, in sector south of the Abyei Box, killing at least fourteen persons and injuring four others (all Ngok Dinkas) while some 37 houses in the village were burnt down.
  • 31 Oct 2022 - Abyei, 31 October 2022 – In marking the anniversary of the UN Security Council Resolution 1325 on Women, Peace, and Security UNISFA Acting Head of Mission and Force Commander, Maj. Gen. Benjamin Olufemi Sawyerr, has reiterated the mission’s commitment to upholding the priorities of the Action for Peacekeeping.
  • 26 Sep 2022 - Abyei, 26 September 2022 – The United Nations Interim Security Force for Abyei (UNISFA) is greatly alarmed and deeply disturbed by the renewed clashes between the Twik and Ngok Dinka communities taking place in Agok in the Sector South area, 28 kilometres from Abyei town.
  • 22 Aug 2022 - Abyei, 22 August 2022 – The CIMIC Team of the Ghanian Battalion (GHANBATT) led by the Officer Commanding Marial Achak COB, Capt. SO Sarkodie, recently donated some assorted relief items to the Marial Achak Women Association in the Marial Achak Village.
  • 03 Jul 2022 - Abyei, 03 July 2022 – The acting Head of Mission/Force Commander UNISFA, Major General Benjamin Olufemi Sawyerr, recently commissioned the dormant clinic in Goli rehabilitated by the Pakistani Battalion (PAKBATT-1) serving under the United Nations Interim Security Force for Abyei (UNSFA).
