The Abyei Community Protection Committee (CPC) team beat the UN POLICE and military, team during a football match to raise awareness about gender-based violence. The march was organized in Abyei town on 6 December 2021.

Women and youth representatives at the Aweil Conference have called on their leaders to put aside their differences and embrace peace. They decried the continued violence and criminality in Abyei Area saying that they are the most impacted. They appealed to the leaders to conclude the conference with a resolution ensuring the inclusion and participation of women and youth in all future peace processes and negotiations.
