A handover ceremony between the Ghanaian and Ethiopian battalions was held at the Joint Border Verification and Monitoring Mechanism (JBVMM) headquarters in Kadugli on 15 February 2022.
The Pakistan army has dispatched the advance party of its battalion to UNISFA. The advance team, comprising of 15 personnel, arrived in the mission Area of Operation on 9 February 2022, and was deployed to UNISFA Todach Team Site of Sector North.

UNPOL and partners conducted a training on Sexual Gender Based Violence and, children's rights for journalists working for Abyei FM on 9 December 2021. The training is part of sensitization sessions on SGBV organised by UN Police and partners in the Abyei Box.

On 3 December 2021, Public Information Office and UN Mine Action organized a photojournalism training for journalists working for Abyei FM. The one-day training was conducted at the Abyei FM premises in Agok. Ten journalists attended the training.
English language training for Abyei Journalists Public Information Office officially launched English language training for Abyei journalists in November 2021.
